Toronto, February 2, 2026 — Hub International Limited (HUB), a leading global insurance brokerage and financial services firm, announced today the appointment of Matthew Studley as President of its Ontario & Atlantic regions. Studley succeeds Susan Murphy, who is retiring.
In his new role, Studley will oversee HUB’s operations across Ontario and the Atlantic provinces, driving strategic initiatives and strengthening HUB's position as a leading insurance advisor in Eastern Canada, including retaining and attracting top talent and, advancing HUB's commitment to delivering innovative insurance and risk management solutions to clients across the region.

Studley brings extensive experience in financial risk management, executive liability, and specialty risk mitigation to his expanded role. Previously serving as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of HUB Ontario & Atlantic, he oversaw all commercial insurance, employee benefits and investment counseling divisions. His client portfolio includes some of Canada’s largest publicly traded and privately owned companies, with particular expertise serving publicly traded boards, investment management firms, insurance companies, private equity firms and pension plans.
Prior to his COO role, Studley led HUB's Complex Risk division and the Public D&O and Financial Institutions practice. Before joining HUB, he spent several years with one of Canada's largest asset management firms as an investment analyst serving retail and institutional clients. He is a recognized thought leader in the industry, regularly speaking at conferences and contributing to international news organizations and insurance industry publications.
Studley holds an MBA with distinction from Cornell University, a bachelor’s degree in finance from Bishop's University, and is a CFA Charter holder.
